Every Reflect Photo print begins as an original photograph, taken on location — then reimagined as an artwork in whatever style the picture itself asks for. Many wear the dress of the great British railway posters of the 1930s; others follow their own light — sea fog, nightfall, a lantern in a dark shed.
Each image belongs to a series — the Devon Travel Series, the Cornwall Travel Series, the Cotswold Travel Series, the New Zealand Travel Series and the World Travel Series — and each carries its own serial number, printed on the artwork itself.
Reflect Photo began with one photograph: a barber's stall glowing through plastic sheeting in a market shed in Fushun, north-east China, taken in near-darkness in the winter of 2005. A framed print of it hung for years in a friend's living room, where it drew the same three questions from every visitor — what is it? where was it taken? what's the story? This collection is built to answer those questions: every print carries them already answered. The picture itself is here too — CHI 1001, lit like an old master, questions included.
On the back of every postcard and greetings card you'll find a QR code, and every print carries its serial number.
