Above Tunnel Beach

The Milky Way above the clifftops at Tunnel Beach, south of Dunedin — here the camera faces inland, and the glow on the horizon is the light of the city itself. The sea-carved tunnel that gives the beach its name was cut through the cliff in the 1870s, and the walk down from the paddocks above is steep.
