Erme Estuary

The moon rises over reed beds and tidal sands on the Erme, looking north-east up the estuary — one of the last undeveloped estuaries in the south-west, with no bridge, no marina and no public road along it.

※ This viewpoint lies on the private Flete Estate: walking the Erme valley path needs a permit from the estate. The mouth of the estuary can be reached without one at Coastguards Beach — public and open daily — from the Flete Estate car park at Mothecombe (see DEV 1004).
