Kaka Point

The aurora australis over Molyneux Bay — curtains of rose and green above the cabbage trees, with the Nugget Point lighthouse holding the far headland. Made on the shore between Ahuriri Flat and Kaka Point during the Gannon storm of May 2024, the most powerful in decades, when the southern lights were seen as far north as Queensland.
