Wairangi Wharf

From the end of the old wooden wharf, looking back through fog to the pōhutukawa shore. Herne Bay grew up around jetties like this — in the 1880s its villa owners commuted to the city by boat — and Wairangi, off Wharf Street, is the long timber survivor.
